Two-vehicle accident
At 8:39 p.m. April 10, LaSalle County deputies investigated a two-vehicle accident at East 15th Road and North 15th Road (Eagle Township). Joshua Harper, 37, of 314 E. Minnesota St., Spring Valley, was traveling west on North 15th Road and stopped at the intersection with East 15th Road.
Harper attempted to turn north onto East 15th Road, squealed the tires on his vehicle causing him to lose control. Harper's vehicle struck an southbound vehicle driven by Larry Martell, 78, of Ancona. Harper then left the scene. No injuries were reported.
Harper was arrested for driving under the influence. Harper was also cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident to a police authority, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, illegal transportation of alcohol by a driver and failure to notify the Secretary of State of a change of address. Harper was released with a notice to appear.
