Tickets on sale now for RVP's 'Wonderful Town'

HENRY — River Valley Players Community Dinner Theatre has announced tickets are now avaiable for "Wonderful Town."

Based on the play “My Sister Eileen,” this hidden gem features a soaring score by Leonard Bernstein ("West Side Story," "Candide," "On the Town") and smart, funny lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green ("On the Town," "Bells Are Ringing," "Singin’ In the Rain" screenplay). Set in the summer of 1935, "Wonderful Town" tells the story of Ruth and Eileen, two sisters, who leave behind their mundane lives in Ohio for Greenwich Village in the pursuit of their dreams. Chock-full of swinging show tunes, breathtaking choreography and effervescent charm, "Wonderful Town" captures the thrill of chasing one’s dreams like no other musical.

Tickets are on sale now. Tickets for Saturday and Sunday performances, March 7-8 and 14-15, are $38 and includes a meal served at 6:30 p.m. followed by the performance. Catering will be by the Meeting Place in Henry. Friday, March 13, is a show only for $20. Homemade desserts will be available for purchase beginning at 6:30 p.m.

RVP is celebrating the opening of its 43rd season.
