At 5:36 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, the Tonica Volunteer Fire Department was called out for a three-vehicle accident at the intersection of North 19th Road and Route 251. Tonica responded with an ambulance, rescue truck and fire truck.
On arrival, emergency personnel found partial lane blockage with vehicles in the ditch and on the roadway. Vehicle airbags did deploy, and no extrication was needed.
Oglesby ambulance was called for a mutual aid ambulance.
Tonica and Oglesby ambulances each transported one patient to Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru with non-life threatening injuries.
Two other patients were assessed by medical personnel at the scene and refused transport to a hospital.
Tonica Police is investigating the accident.
