IVCC agriculture program with farm bureaus will host ag info nights in February

Events will take place on Feb. 7 and 8

Field technicians from Designs & Signs by Anderson apply the final screws to a new 10-by-20-foot sign on the east side of Illinois Valley Community College’s new ag facility. As of Aug. 6, there were 52 students enrolled in fall ag classes with 12 days remaining before the Aug. 18 semester start.

The Illinois Valley Community College agriculture program will host Ag Info Nights in February in conjunction with the La Salle, Bureau and Marshall-Putnam County Farm Bureaus.

The first event is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 7, at the La Salle County Farm Bureau in Ottawa. This event will be followed by another beginning at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, at the Bureau County Farm Bureau in Princeton.

Sessions will include a program overview, overview of Farm Bureau and Collegiate Farm Bureau membership and county Farm Bureau scholarship programs. Each will end with a period for questions and answers.

Prospective visitors do not need to be a Farm Bureau member to attend as the organization encourages prospective students and parents to attend the sessions.

Individuals can RSVP for the event by calling the Bureau County Farm Bureau at 815-875-6468 or the La Salle County Farm Bureau at 815-433-0371.
