Storm with 40 mph wind, hail moving through La Salle County

Showers and scattered thunderstorms will continue across the area Monday night into Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service. A few storms may be strong to marginally severe, with mainly small hail and gusty winds possible.

2:00 a.m. Storm warning for La Salle, Livingston counties

10:30 p.m.

A storm capable of producing 40 mph winds and penny sized hail is expected to move through La Salle County, including Peru, Lostant, Tonica, Ottawa, Grand Ridge and Streator.

9:04 p.m. Tornado warning expires

A tornado warning initially issued for Bureau County expired. The storm which prompted it has weakened in rotation. The severe storm is moving through southern Bureau and Putnam counties.

9:01 p.m. Severe storm warning Bureau County

A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Bureau County to 9:45 p.m., including Princeton, DePue and Tiskilwa. The storm has the potential for 60 mph winds and pea sized hail. A tornado also is possible to develop from the storm, according to the National Weather Service Quad Cities.

8:45 p.m. Tornado warning for western Bureau County

A tornado warning was issued for western Bureau County, including Kewanee, Galva and Neponset to 9:15 p.m. Monday.

Radar indicated the tornado. The storm also may have pea-sized hail.

The National Weather Service Quad Cities observed strengthening rotation within the storm cluster approaching Kewanee and headed into southwest Bureau Count. If ahead of this storm, take cover officials warn.
