Veterans stories sought for Illinois Capitol display

SPRINGFIELD — As Veterans Day approaches, state Sen. Sue Rezin, R-Morris, asks constituents to submit a photo and tribute to a loved one who has served in the U.S. Armed Forces to be displayed on a Veterans Day “Wall of Honor” in the Illinois State Capitol from Nov. 4 to 15.

“Our veterans deserve all the recognition they can get,” Rezin said. “If you are looking for a way to honor a veteran that is near and dear to you this Veterans Day, this is a great opportunity to do so.”

Constituents are asked to submit photos and written stories (maximum 250 words) along with the following information: name, military branch (Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, National Guard, Navy) and conflict served (Afghanistan, Iraq, Sept. 11, Gulf War, Vietnam, Korea, World War II, World War I, Peacetime, other). Military photos are preferred, but not necessary.

Those who wish to participate can download a submission form at www.SenatorRezin.com/WallOfHonor.
