LOSTANT — Lostant eighth-grader Corbin Shaver recently competed in the IESA state track meet in East Peoria.

Seeded 12th in two competitions, Shaver finished in fourth-place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.09 seconds; and sixth place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.09 seconds.

“Corbin had an amazing end to his elementary track career. He set goals on the first day of track this spring that he wanted to return to the state track meet and this time medal. He did just that. I am sure he wasn’t happy with his time on Saturday after winning his heat on Friday. The look on his face after the 200-meter dash when he got out of the blocks bad, and then received a medal, was amazing. He worked hard to accomplish what he did,” said LGS track coach Holli Rapp.
