LOWELL — Jeffrey Howard Johnson, 46, the No. 1 dad in all of LaSalle County, died suddenly Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018, while working at his desk.
Jeff was born July 20, 1972, in LaSalle to Rita Kae Huss and Jerald Lee Johnson.
Jeff left us with two beautiful children, Jonny Jerald and Lauren Kae. He is also survived by his father, Jerry (Kathy) Johnson; his ex-wife, Jody Mikolajczyk; four siblings, Vicki Sue (Steve) Kenyon, Butch (LeeAnn), Bill (Michelle) and Eric (Melissa); five nieces and six nephews; and two great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rita Kae (Janusick) Huss.
Jeff was a young entrepreneur with a lawn business, J&J Construction in Tonica and Jeffrey’s bar in Lostant. Jeff and his family moved across the U.S. working for ADM and most recently he worked at Airgas in Peru. He had just finished building his “dream garage” and planned on painting the inside over the weekend.
Jeff was a devoted father who loved his home in the timber, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and being on the water in Wisconsin and Florida. He was an animal lover and was still mourning the loss of his dogs, Suzy and Krystal.
Everyone loved Jeff’s quick smile and his laid back attitude. He will be remembered as the life of the party and a stranger to no one.
In lieu of flowers, a fund for his children has been established at the Illini State Bank in Tonica.
In honor of Jeff’s life, his family will be receiving guests at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Marshall County Sportsman Club, 3059 County Road 1250 N., Wenona. At 5 p.m. there will be a memorial and everyone is invited to share their favorite memories of loving, irreplaceable Jeff.
