LASALLE — The LaSalle Public Library will host Lego Mania! for the summer. Open to all ages, this program is for those who love to build, design and create. Lego Mania! will be held Thursdays, June 7, 14, 21 and 28, and July 5, 19 and 26, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
Participants are welcome to choose among thousands of Lego pieces to start building. Staff will have Lego books and magazines available to get ideas. Youth are welcome to snap a photo before disassembling their construction. Legos are for in-library use only. Parents should be aware that many Lego pieces are very small and may pose a choking hazard to young children.
Children under 8 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
‘Prairie Quilts’ program
LASALLE — The LaSalle Public Library will host Cathy Crafton, quilter and needlepoint artist, at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 12. Her program will be “Prairie Quilts.”
In this unique program, Grafton will explore the history of early Illinois settlers, and how the land of Illinois — prairie, woodland and farmland — have inspired and influenced her in the making of quilts. She will bring a selection of her quilts for viewing.

Family jigsaw days
LASALLE — On Wednesdays, June 6, 13, 20 and 27, and July 18 and 25, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., families can take a break by spending a few hours at the LaSalle Public Library, enjoying a quiet time together, completing a jigsaw puzzle … old fashioned fun in air-conditioned comfort. Perfect for those 90 degree days.
This program is for all ages; children under the age of 8 years must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
