LASALLE — Stage 212 has announced auditions for the children’s theater production of “Mary Poppins, Jr.” will take place at 6 p.m. Friday, June 15, and 1 p.m. Saturday, June 16, (attend one) at the theater, 700 First St. in downtown LaSalle. A full production by kids, for kids, “Mary Poppins, Jr.” is open to all children entering grades 4 to 10.
Director Reid Tomasson will cast approximately 30 children in a variety of lead and supporting roles. Kids will be taught a portion of the song "Feed the Birds" from the musical, a dance combination and will do a reading from the script. No advance preparation is necessary, but kids should come dressed to move. Flip-flops are strongly discouraged. All auditioners should bring a calendar with all of their summer conflicts. No absences will be allowed after Aug. 1.
