At 12:03 a.m., the Tonica Volunteer Fire Department was called for a second structure fire at 279 North 17th Road, which is the same address as the recent church fire. Firefighters found an unoccupied two-story farmhouse totally involved with fire, and Tonica requested a MABAS box alarm.

Mutual aid was received from the fire departments of Oglesby, Utica, McNabb, Standard and Toluca, with the LaSalle County Police providing traffic control.
