Trivia Night set for Jan. 20 at Reddick Mansion

OTTAWA — The Reddick Mansion Association announces "Trivia Night at the Mansion" will be Saturday, Jan. 20. The contest will start at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Sponsored by the Reddick Mansion Association and hosted by RMA board member and trivia expert, Steve Novario, the game will be composed of 10 rounds of questions with 10 questions per round.

According to Novario, categories will include "2017, Year in Review," "Love and Marriage" and "The Kids are Alright." Teams are limited to 6 to 10 people and the cost is $10 per person. Cash prizes will be given to the first- and second-place teams. A 50/50 raffle will also be held. Space is limited. To reserve a table, call the Mansion at 815·433-6100. Coffee, soda, water and snacks will be available for purchase throughout the evening.

Lorraine McAllister, president of the Reddick Mansion Association, said, ''We really enjoy hosting the trivia nights. In addition to raising money for the Mansion, it's a great opportunity for people to get together for some friendly competition, to learn some interesting and obscure facts, and to enjoy the Mansion."

All proceeds from this event will be used for the maintenance and restoration of the Reddick Mansion. The Mansion, at 100 W. Lafayette St. In Ottawa, was completed by 1858, the time of the first Lincoln-Douglas Debate, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Sites. The building Is open for tours four days a week and Is also available for rent for special events.
