The car was in the median, and the semi was on the road. Tonica responded with an ambulance, rescue truck and pumper, Oglesby responded with an ambulance and rescue truck, and Lostant responded with an ambulance.
Three people were transported to IVCH with non-life-threatening injuries, and no extrication was needed. Three additional victims were assessed by medical personnel, and they refused transport.
While this initial accident was being cleared, a pickup truck pulling a trailer went into the median where the trailer rolled over.
Oglesby responded with another ambulance to this accident, and no extrication was needed. The driver of this vehicle was assessed by emergency personnel and also refused transport to a hospital.
The Illinois State Police investigated the accidents and provided traffic control. Tonica cleared the scene at approximately 11:35 a.m.
