PERU — The Zion United Church of Christ will have its annual holiday cookie and bake sale on Friday, Dec. 8, at the church, 1521 Sixth St. in Peru. Numbers will be given out starting at 1 p.m. and the sale will begin at 3.
German specialties such as lebkuchen, pfeffernusse, cinnamon and almond stars will be sold by the dozen. A large selection of decorated cutouts and other cookies will be sold for $7 per pound. A variety of homemade candy, fudge, Christmas bread and coffee cakes will also be available.
The public is invited to attend.
