Wisconsin Sheep, Wool Festival is Sept. 8-10

The Wisconsin Sheep and Wool Festival, sponsored by the Wisconsin Sheep Breeders Cooperative, will be held Sept. 8-10 at Jefferson County Fair Park in Jefferson, Wis.

The festival has four days of classes with the addition of a schedule of fiber arts classes offered on Thursday, Sept. 7. With a total of 70-plus classes, the focus on fiber education for the Jefferson event now provides opportunities for vendors to teach or take classes and makes the class schedule even more accessible to the general public.

Thirty-nine instructors from as far away as Maine and California will handle the teaching duties. Festival planners emphasize, however, on Thursday the event will be open only to those persons registered for fiber arts classes and not to the general public.

Thursday will continue to be a set up day for all festival activities, shows and vendors, though some food stands will be open for business. The Country Store will not be open for sales until 10 a.m. Friday.

Daily admission to the festival is $8 per person (kids 8 and under are free) for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Weekend passes are available at $15 per person. Parking is free.
