IVCH Auxiliary awards scholarships

PERU — Two Mendota residents, Kirsten Eddy and Rachel Reppin, are the recipients of $1,000 health careers scholarships from the Illinois Valley Community Hospital Auxiliary.

Eddy is a nurse in the in the IVCH obstetrics unit. Already a registered nurse, she is studying for her bachelor’s degree in nursing through Western Governors University and says her ultimate goal is to become a nurse practitioner.

Reppin, who is working on a nursing degree at Northern Illinois University, received the Auxiliary’s Ruth Daniels Memorial Scholarship. She says her goal is to care for children as a pediatric nurse.
