Albert 'Bee' Marincic

DEER PARK TOWNSHIP — Albert “Bee” Marincic, 92, of Deer Park Township died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, at the Illinois Veterans Home in LaSalle.

He was born March 24, 1924, in Oglesby to John and Jennie (Podobnik) Marincic. He married Marianne McDonald on Feb. 21, 1950, at Sacred Heart Church in Oglesby.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in Middle Eastern/European Theater. He received the Purple Heart and was awarded two Bronze Battle Stars. He, his brothers and their wives owned and operated Shine’s Tap, Valley View Motel and Gold Award Products in Jonesville, until their retirement. He also farmed in Deer Park Township.

He was a longtime volunteer fireman in the Oglesby Fire Department and a lifetime member of the Oglesby American Legion. He and his son, Mark, were part of the Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., in 2010. He had a private pilot’s license.

Albert is survived by four children, Marianne “Cookie” (Stan) Draper of Oglesby, Dianne (Randy) Senica of Oglesby, Debbie Billard of Oglesby and Mark (Leslee) Marincic of Peru; 12 grandchildren, Bret and Scott Draper, Sara, Nathan, Luke and Sam Senica, Tom Billard, Maggie Hettman, and Carlee, Mark, Cameron and Jace Marincic; 15 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Lincoln “Willy” Marincic.

He was preceded in death by his wife on Dec. 20, 2005; a grandson, Joseph Draper; a granddaughter, Jennilee Billard; two sisters, Rose Prazen and Molly Chapman; and two brothers, Paul “Plu” Marincic and John “Shine” Marincic.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, in the Prey-Mueller Funeral Home in Oglesby. Burial will in St. Vincent Cemetery in LaSalle, where full military rites will be conducted by the LaSalle-Oglesby Memorial Group. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the services.
