Hefty Seed Co. — Princeton plans grand opening

PRINCETON — The public is invited to attend Hefty Seed Co. Princeton’s grand opening on Tuesday, Sept. 13. This location marks the first Illinois store for one of the nation’s largest ag retailers and is located just north of Exit 56 on Interstate 80.

As part of the activities introducing the store, Darren Hefty of Hefty Seed Co., an Ag PhD, will hold a Hefty Brand Seed video plot tour at 9 a.m. Following the tour, Hefty will speak about what he has seen this year in fields, Hefty Seed Co.’s history and how it came to Illinois, and about the new Hefty Brand Seed lineup of corn and soybeans for 2017. Lunch will follow the program.

“I am looking forward to hearing what Darren has to say about our new lineup of corn for the 2017 season,” said sales agronomist Matt Denton. “It will make a great addition to the Hefty Brand Seed we offer to growers.”

From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., visitors will also be able to talk with the numerous agricultural seed and chemical companies Hefty Seed Co. Princeton works with. Operators will be able to discuss the variety of products these companies offer and how these items can be used to benefit their operations. Guests will also have the opportunity to meet with the store’s agronomists and staff.

Hefty Seed Co. Princeton has been in operation since July 2015. The store features seed lineups from Hefty Brand Seed, LG Seeds, Stine, Mycogen and NK; as well as chemical products from Monsanto, BASF, Bayer, FMC, AmVac, Syngenta, Valent, Dow, DuPont and more. They also offer a full line of fertility solutions from AgroLiquid and biological solutions from Monsanto BioAg.
