Producers are winding down harvest across the state. Some operators continued with fall tillage and fertilizer applications, but freezing temperatures may have put an end to fieldwork for the season. There were 4.6 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending Nov. 23.

Statewide, precipitation averaged 0.27 inches, 0.37 inches below normal. The average temperature was 27.9 degrees, 13.0 degrees below normal.

Corn harvest was 97 percent complete, compared to 98 percent last year and the five-year average of 92 percent.

Sorghum harvest was 95 percent complete. Winter wheat emerged reached 76 percent. Winter wheat condition was rated at 4 percent very poor, 7 percent poor, 33 percent fair, 54 percent good and 2 percent excellent.

Pasture condition was rated at 2 percent very poor, 8 percent poor, 27 percent fair, 51 percent good and 12 percent excellent. Topsoil moisture supply was rated at 6 percent short, 78 percent adequate and 16 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated at 1 percent very short, 8 percent short, 81 percent adequate and 10 percent surplus.
